Author’s biography

Stephanie L Baxter grew up in a forgotten place in England, engulfed by deprivation and abuse. Mother, daughter and newly published author, Stephanie uses her personal testimony of sexual abuse against herself and young daughter, to minister and to bless survivors and their families who were left to pick up the pieces.

A committed Christian all her life, Stephanie frames her testimony through the lens of God’s unique and personal prophecy that foretold the storms she would encounter, but to stand firm because He would ‘give back tenfold what the locusts had taken’. Armed with this simple hope, Stephanie began to rebuild her future through education whilst wrestling with the deep-seated fears, grief and secrets that held her back.

Earning a B.A. Hons in Social Policy from the University of Birmingham in 2005, and later, an M.A Hons in Housing Studies from London Southbank University in 2018, Stephanie has dedicated her skills to reducing homelessness through community led housing.

Healing, peace and joy finally came in 2022, giving Stephanie a newfound courage to finally share her deepest pain. In her inaugural book, the ‘The Locusts’ Coup’, Stephanie describes her personal heartache and grief as a mother, leading her to set up her ministry that seeks to share God’s love and His ability to heal all affected by abuse.

In preparation for this work, Stephanie recently completed the ‘Equipped to Minister’ course from Spurgeon’s College and has become a volunteer with The Prison Fellowship Trust. The healing that she experienced has given her a heart for sharing God’s love not only with survivors of abuse, but to also engage with sex offenders and the families they left behind.

Stephanie is married to Paul, who shares her love of jazz music, and the utter joy of the two amazing young women who chose to call him dad.
